CLOCKSS

Since 2016, all eCM articles are held within the CLOCKSS digital archive to ensure they remain available forever. CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) is a not-for-profit joint venture between the world’s leading academic publishers and research libraries, whose mission is to build a sustainable, geographically distributed dark archive to ensure the long-term survival of web-based scholarly publications for the benefit of the greater global research community.

Universities and Research Institutes are allowed to keep electronic PDF copies of eCM final published articles, kindly asking for a URL to the original article web page (not direct to the pdf) is also included on the page.

In 2016, eCM became a member of Crossref. Crossref's general purpose is to promote the development and cooperative use of new and innovative technologies to speed and facilitate scholarly research. Crossref's specific mandate is to be the citation linking backbone for all scholarly information in electronic form. Crossref is a collaborative reference linking service that functions as a sort of digital switchboard. It holds no full text content, but rather effects linkages through Crossref Digital Object Identifiers (DOI), which are tagged to article metadata supplied by the participating publishers. The end result is an efficient, scalable linking system through which a researcher can click on a reference citation in a journal and access the cited article. The eCM Digital Object Identifier is 10.22203/eCM.
